What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)?
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that leads to inflammation of the joints and surrounding tissues. It can also impact other organs.
Rheumatoid arthritis can occur at any age – but it is more common in middle age, mostly in women.
The causes of RA are unknown, but infections, genetics, and hormone changes may be linked to the disease.
Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include joint pain, morning stiffness, chest pain, dry and itchy eyes, numbness in hands and feet, and trouble sleeping.
Over time, the joints of people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis may lose the motion and possibly become deformed.
There is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis and currently, there is no test that can determine for sure that a patient has RA.
RA symptoms can be alleviated with a combination of targeted supplementation and conventional treatments.
